We would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing PES PTO and our community partners for fundraising for our Winter Book Fair! Through their efforts, every student at Preston Elementary School is going to have $7.30 to spend on books next week when Book Fair begins! Our students and staff are so appreciative of this opportunity for our Panthers to have more books in their hands! We are humbled by the continued support of both our PTO and our community. Thank you!
Book Fair starts next week at PES! If you want to shop at the Online Book Fair with your child, go to the link on the Book Fair homepage. All books will be shipped to your home and orders over $25.00 will have free shipping. This is a great way to include other family members who like to normally come to Book Fair. Anyone from anywhere can shop our online fair. It will be available on our Book Fair Homepage from Feb. 24 - March 9. This will ensure that your student will get the book that they want. If you buy it online, then you will have it delivered to your home and it will not be sold out.
You can also use the wallet as a cashless option for all students in person or online! Any change left on eWallet will be used to purchase a book for the Media Center at the end of the fair.

Congratulations to Ayva Compton for being chosen for our Book Reviewer of the Week! Ayva is an avid reader and she loves to read books about animals. The book that she reviewed is called Pinto Horses by Janet L. Gammie. She gave it 5 stars. She said that it is about Pinto Horses and they are her favorite. Read Across America Week and our Winter Bookfair are right around the corner, starting the week of Monday, February 27. To help celebrate we have a Dr. Seuss-themed Spirit Week that uses some of the more famous themes from his wonderful children's books. Reading is so important for our Panthers and we are looking forward to all of our activities! #PESReads

Looks like these Panthers are ready for a vacation! Still a long way to go till summer but they are certainly well prepared! Tomorrow is our final day of Spirit Week and will be Flannel Friday where we ask everyone to wear flannel or their comfiest clothes! ❤️
Today in 4th grade our Panthers did a science experiment to learn about weathering and erosion. Ms. August had one jar of water and one jar of rocks per table. Students put a sugar cube in each jar and shook them for one minute. Afterwards they had to compare the difference between what they saw in the jar with the water and what they saw in the jar with the rocks. Science in action! #PESPantherPride
