The Caroline Career and Technology Center (CCTC) Construction Technology Program combined instruction with fundraising for Halloween. Under the direction of teacher Mr. Dennis Hall, students created models of Halloween lanterns in a variety of designs and colors. Once all designs were finalized, the product was then marketed to CCPS staff. Response was overwhelming but students stepped up production and were able to successfully fill all orders. In total, 17 students constructed and delivered 175 lanterns. All proceeds will go towards materials for future projects. Students are currently working on the construction of outdoor sheds.
Principal Courtney Handte said, “This was an awesome opportunity for students to develop and refine technical skills on various pieces of equipment while learning marketing and fundraising techniques.”
